Six teams for OCA all-India cricket tourney

Six teams, including four from neighbouring states would vie for the trophy in the 1st All-India Basant Biswal Memorial Cricket Tournament to be organised by Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) at Cuttack from June 3 to 11. Teams have been divided into two groups. Orissa-A, Assam, Tripura are placed in Group-A while Orissa-B, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh are put in Group-B. Teams will first play the group league and then the two group toppers will meet each other in the final. Matches will be of two-day (90 overs per side) nature and will be played simultaneously at Barabati Stadium and Ravenshaw University ground. The tournament carries a total cash prize of Rs 1.75 lakhs, including Rs 1 lakh for the winners and Rs 50,000 for the runners-up. The man of the tournament and the man of the final match would get Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Schedule: June 3-4: Assam vs Tripura (Barabati Stadium): Jharkhand vs Andhra (Ravenshwa ground). June 5-6: Orissa-A vs Tripura (Ravenshaw ground): Orissa-B vs Andhra (Barabati Stadium). June 7-8: Orissa-A vs Assam (Barabati Stadium): Orissa-B vs Jharkhand (Ravenshaw ground). June 10-11: Final (Barabati).
